Clan Destined “Self Titled” Album Illustration and Design

This project dealt with the illustration and graphic design for a talented group called Clan Destined and their new album entitled, “Self Titled”. A really , really DOPE piece of work. These young brothers are wise beyond their years and it shows in the music. They both produce, Dj and Mcee. Two triple threats at your service. I knew they wanted some illustrations but I didn’t know what style I was going to create for this… yet I did. The art really needed to represent the energy the music expressed.

Clan D’s music has many layers and to me… very spiritual. The tracks motivates you to be better, think better and do better. I used the mystique of the album as  the base for my illustration. It’s almost like they appeared out of thin air. In with the wind, then disappearing. “Self Titled” is self explanitory. I went with there faces because you needed to get familier with them. They speak a lot of truth with unique perspectives. People still tend to think Hip-Hop Artists don’t have much to do except entertain. A lot of brush strokes was used here  to express the fury the come with. HAAA! The illustration inspired the direction of the album design in which I kept it in an authentic form and still classic.
