MarQ Spekt x Kno – Machete Vision
C Flux Album Covers, C Flux Illustrate
This isn’t the first time that I worked the creative young king Marq Spekt on a project of his. Outside of being good friends and him (and his crew, Broady Champs) being a Fly Hip-Hop Professionals, he brings his artistic creative side to the table. He pretty much knows what direction he wants to go or how he wants the people to receive the project. Just to get an idea of what feeling the music can give you, one writer says, “… Machete Vision is a beautifully violent, entertaining and surprisingly introspective listen; …It turns out that MarQ doesn’t only have beef with dumb ass rappers, but ignorance in general; … he’s not just admonishing a crop of disappointing rappers, but the disenfranchised society that churns them out. Interestingly enough, none of the transitions into these very real issues that the latter half of the album focuses on feel forced or contrived. – Omar Burgass. HipHopDx.com “.
With that said, He definitely wanted some Powerful Women Warriors to grace the cover… but I took it a likkle further. HAAA! Basic in concept so the effort was all in stretching the atmosphere of what that war would look like. Personally, the music again had to do with a clean, sharp focus attitude one should have when pursuing their goals and the energy is warlike. With it being women… makes the image that more serious. We see images of men in this fashion all day. It’s almost expected but if you see a woman… ish just got REAL! HAAA.
